The Haitian Independence Day Gala is an annual event organized by the Haitian-Americans United, Inc. (H.A.U.)
- To educate our youth about Haitian history and contributions
- To celebrate the triumph and the great impact of the 1791-1803 Haitian Slave Revolution,
- To honor Haiti' Ancestors (January 2nd is Haiti's Ancestors Day)
- To commemorate the proclamation of Haiti's independence (January 1st, 1804)
- To promote unity through patriotism for socio-economic development
- To promote Haitian cultural and historical awareness
Proceeds of the gala go to the Haitian-Americans United, Inc. (H.A.U.) Vision Campaign Funds including the Toussaint Louverture's Scholarship Fund and the Events Fund for the 2008 Haitian American Unity Parade and the Flag Raising Ceremony in front of Boston City Hall
